Rev. Adolf A. Pagliarulo, a native Staten Islander, has been the pastor here since February 2008. He is known for his dynamic preaching and deep love of Scripture.
Pastor Adolf was ordained in 1968 after completing his studies at St. Joseph’s Seminary, a Roman Catholic seminary in Yonkers, New York. He served in parishes in upstate New York and New York City before leaving the priesthood in 1973.
He then joined the staff of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where he served for many years as the manager of nuclear medicine. He retired in 2004.
After marrying in 1980, Pastor Adolf returned to Staten Island and began attending Brighton Heights Reformed Church. In 1994 the pastor there encouraged Pastor Adolf to return to ministry. He audited several courses at New Brunswick Theological Seminary and in 1996 was licensed by the Classis of New York of the Reformed Church in America. He served as the associate pastor of Grace Christian Church on Staten Island from 1998 to 2008.
Pastor Adolf and his wife, Jarene, have two daughters: Bethany, a nurse, and Rebecca, a social worker. He enjoys reading, home repair and, most especially, being with God’s people.
